Welcome to Welsh House Farm
Head Teachers Welcome.
Welcome to our school website, I hope you find it easy to navigate and informative.
Here at Welsh House Farm Community School, we pride ourselves in making every aspect of our school life welcoming and friendly and we hope our website supports that aim - we are a community school after all.
As Head Teacher, I am proud of the nurturing environment that is embedded within the school. WHFCS is a Birmingham School of Sanctuary, working hard to support ‘new arrivals’ from all around the world. We also have a Cognition and Learning Resource Base and we have a strong ethos of inclusion and education for all.
I am extremely proud of our pupils. Many live on and around the Welsh House Farm Estate – but we do have families that travel some distance to come to our school. Our pupils are a diverse group with unique personalities, yet all of them come together to form a cohesive community working hard to grow and flourish.
Pupils at WHFCS, benefit greatly from a broad range of experiences used to enhance the curriculum. We offer a range of educational trips, workshops and visitors. We provide mentoring services, sports and creative art clubs, music tuition and choir which we build on every year.
Pupils strive to do their best and are growing in confidence every day as we present new challenges and goals for them to achieve. Every child deserves an education and every child gets an education at WHFCS. We continue to work hard to break down any barriers to learning, support families and provide appropriate and effective provision for our pupils.
Since my appointment in January 2016, we have built stronger links with the community by working with the ‘Big Local’ on community projects. We have regular cultural coffee mornings and parents are invited to a range of events throughout the year, but this is still something I wish to continue to strengthen as I believe parental involvement has such a positive impact on a child’s learning.
If your child needs a place in school, I encourage you to visit our setting and see for yourself what we have to offer. Historically, WHFCS has lacked status in the community and there have been a lot of negative pre conceived ideas of our school and our pupils – but the reality is we are a GOOD school, with well-behaved caring pupils who strive to do their best. I feel privileged to be a part of the school’s story.
